OUR HISTORY

1973

At the age of 24, Salvatore Toma is far-sighted enough to start his mechanical machining artisanal business, in a 150-square meter premise in the town of Taurisano. He draws on the experience gained as an employee and exclusively uses conventional machines

1990

Salvatore Toma expands the business, with an outdoor, 500-square meter area to be used for storing raw materials.

1998

Salvatore Toma expands the business through the purchase of a 180-square meter premise, next to the production area, to be used as an office and finished product warehouse.

2001

2001 Antonio and Maria Assunta Toma join the company; subsequently, a warehouse and offices, covering approximately 1,400 square meters, are built in the municipality of Ruffano (LE). This marks the start of the activities of TOMA LAVORAZIONI MECCANICHE, with the purchase of the first CNC machine.

2007

Work begins on a new production facility with offices and warehouse, covering approximately 2,000 square meters and located in Via SP176, Taurisano (LE). This is where TOMA FORNITURE INDUSTRIALI’s main activities will take place, mostly thanks to the contribution of Rocco Toma, who will take over the company in 2017. Learn more ->

2013

2013 Work begins on the expansion of TOMA LAVORAZIONI MECCANICHE’s new plant, covering 1,700 additional square meters.

2017

Installation of the first heat treatment unit and a laboratory for destructive and non-destructive testing.

2018

 Installation of the first CNC Swiss-type lathe, for the manufacturing of very small components.

2021

Installation of the first 5-axis CNC working centre, with a 3.5-meter table.

2022

Work begins on a 1,200-square meter expansion of TOMA LAVORAZIONI MECCANICHE’s plant in Ruffano (LE), to be used as a warehouse for finished products and raw materials.
